Georgene Luttmann Death – Georgene Luttmann, a resident of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, and a computer, network, and IT specialist at the North Kingston public library passed away on Thursday, June 8th, 2023, at the South Kingston Nursing and Rehab Center due to complications from cancer. She was 68 years old at the time of her death. She was a beloved mother, a sister, a friend, a colleague, and a mentor. She will be deeply missed.
Who was Georgene Luttmann?
Georgene Hoy Luttmann was born on January 21, 1955. She spent the summers with her family in Stone Harbor, New Jersey, despite having grown up in Delaware. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. Lawrence University before continuing on to SUNY New Paltz to earn a Master of Fine Arts. She spent her summers at the Stone Harbor beaches in New Jersey despite spending the majority of her youth in Lincoln, Rhode Island.
In her later years, she relocated to North Kingston to be closer to the North Kingston Public Library, where she was employed as a computer, network, and IT professional. She liked cooking, especially baking and especially pastries, according to her relatives. At family gatherings, she was known for bringing the tastiest pastries. Sean S. Luttmann, her son, adored and valued Georgene.
She enjoyed reading, and her favorite genres were science fiction and fantasy. Her favorite novel was “A Wrinkle in Time.” She adored animals, and over the course of her life, she took care of dogs, cats, and a rabbit until they all went away from old age. Elizabeth Furcolo and Suzie Hoy, David Hoy, and Art Sells, together with their siblings, took care of her.

There will be a graveside memorial service on Friday, June 16th, 2023 at 2 pm at the New St. Francis Cemetery in Wakefield RI, 125 George Schaeffer Street, Wakefield, RI 02879. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 15th from 4-6 pm at the Avery Storti Funeral home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, RI 02879.
