UPDATE: A car accident in Sterling Heights on Saturday night resulted in the death of a mother and sent a father and a toddler to the hospital, according to the police. At approximately 9:30 p.m., officers with the Sterling Heights Police Department made an attempt to conduct a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Equinox. As the police pursued the Equinox, the driver fled in the northbound direction on Van Dyke Avenue and 15 Mile Road.

According to the police, a collision occurred when a Chevrolet Equinox ran a red light on 16 Mile Road and struck a GMC Terrain. Inside the Terrain were a mother, 31 years old, a father, 31 years old, and a toddler, 2 years old; all three were from the same town of Sterling Heights.

The three were taken to the hospital after suffering various injuries. Sadly, the mother passed away while she was being treated at the hospital. Both the father and the child are in serious condition. The juvenile offender, who was identified as a 16-year-old boy from Detroit, walked away from the collision unscathed and was subsequently brought into custody.

Faith Kinaya Death – Faith Gumma, formerly Faith Kinaya and her husband Norman Gumma were involved in a car accident on Saturday night, August 12, 2023. Faith was pronounced dead by the officials while Norman was transported to the hospital in a critical condition. According to Dean Jamoua, their 2-year-old son who was also in the car will be fine.

Dean said Faith was a religious person and she encourage everyone to put their faith in God to give Norman a full recovery and bring him back home to his baby boy.
