Estephan Neilsen Suicide, Soldier jumped off Memorial Talmadge Bridge in Savannah

Estephan Neilsen Suicide – The incident on the Talmadge Bridge in Savannah, Georgia that resulted in traffic closures on Sunday night has a named victim. The public affairs office of the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart – Hunter Army Airfield reports that Spc. Estephan Neilsen “jumped from the Memorial Talmadge Bridge in Savannah Sunday evening and has not been found.” The Army declared that Nielsen’s whereabouts are “Duty Status Unknown” and that it is unable to account for him.

A call regarding an incident on the bridge was answered by first responders and local law enforcement. Nielsen’s whereabouts are still unknown. A news release from the post states that while the inquiry into his whereabouts is ongoing, Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield are fully assisting local authorities.
