On June 25th, 1969, Eric was born in Fort Hood, Texas, and he was raised in Waukesha, Wisconsin by his loving parents Ron and Dawn. As the eldest of five siblings, including Twila, Rebecca, Jared, and Nathan, Eric’s childhood was enriched by his involvement in church groups, interactions with neighbors, and participation in Boy Scouts. At the age of 16, he achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.
During his teenage years, Eric’s path crossed with his future wife, Leanne, while they both worked at Bartz Party Store in Brookfield. After graduating from high school, he embarked on his college journey at BYU Hawaii, later returning to Wisconsin to complete his bachelor’s degree at Carroll University. It was during his time in Waukesha that he fell deeply in love with Leanne, whom he married in 1991. In 1993, Eric began his career as an Art Teacher at Mukwonago High School.
