Eric Quinn Death – Oglethorpe University Assistant Women’s Golf Coach Eric Quinn of Norcross, Georgia has sadly passed away. He died on Wednesday 1st November 2023 leaving those that knew him devastated. He was announced dead by Oglethorpe University Athletics through a post that reads “With great sadness and broken hearts, we share that Eric Quinn ’13 passed away Wednesday afternoon”. The actual cause of Eric Quinn’s death has not been revealed at this time.
Eric Quinn Norcross Education and Career
Eric graduated from Norcross High School. He later attended Oglethorpe University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Business/Managerial Economics in 2014. He was a Cart Barn Manager at Berkeley Hills Country Club for 10 months from August 2011 to May 2012. He was a Certified Golf Club Techinician/ Sales Associate at DICK’S Sporting Goods for a year and 10 months from August 2012 to May 2014. He was a Financial Representative at Northwestern Mutual for 2 months from May 2014 to June 2014
He was a Chief Financial Officer/ Drafting Techinician at Michael Quinn and Associates. He was an Assistant/Women’s Golf Coach ‘Assistant at Oglethorpe University. Eric’s remarkable talent on the golf course was evidenced by his notable accomplishments, placing him fifth in the annals of Oglethorpe history with an impressive tally of four major tournament wins throughout his career.
Serving as the two-year captain for the Stormy Petrels, he showcased consistent excellence, securing a spot on the all-conference team for all four years of his collegiate journey. Moreover, his exceptional skills were exemplified by setting the SCAC championship record for the best first-round score of 67 in 2012, with his 54-hole score of 213 ranking third all-time for SCAC championship scoring. His contributions to the world of collegiate golf and his impact on the lives of those around him remain a testament to his enduring legacy and passion for the sport.
He participated in numerous events on both the Peach State Pro Tour and the Open Golf Atlanta Tour, achieving commendable results such as securing fourth place at the Trophy Club of Atlanta Championship in 2013 and 2015. Eric’s legacy extends beyond the golf course, as he leaves behind a cherished family, including his parents, Mike and Kathy Quinn, his sisters, Rebecca and Kelley, and his beloved wife, Barbara.
