Eric Blaszczyk Death – Authorities say the male involved in a domestic-related incident today has died. The 37-year-old man with an extensive criminal history was shot dead by police after leading them on a high-speed chase through multiple counties early Saturday morning. At roughly 1:45 a.m. on a Saturday, the man and his wife got into a domestic violence incident in Hernando County.

After dropping her husband off at work, the wife drove to Wesley Chapel to spend time with her parents and their child. During those terrifying minutes, he also shot his wife on the property before fleeing in a car and violently evading the sheriff’s deputies. His wife was sent to the emergency room of a local hospital, where she is expected to survive.

The driver slammed his car into a retention pond at a Hidden River commercial development, creating a massive crime scene. However, that wasn’t the end of the mayhem. According to Sheriff Chronister, a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper, two Pasco County deputies, and a Hillsborough County deputy were able to return fire with the shooter for four minutes.

According to him, the suspect ran again behind a nearby structure, but law enforcement eventually tracked him down and found him lying wounded on the ground. After being taken to the hospital by emergency crews, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at Tampa General. Sheriff Nocco expressed his gratitude for the agencies’ ability to work together and noted that everyone involved was able to return home safely to their families.

The man was found to have an extensive criminal history, including 18 felony convictions and four years served in a Florida prison. According to Chad Chronister; “Suspect Identified: Eric Blaszczyk age 37 is the deceased suspect in this morning’s multi-agency involved shooting. Eric Blaszczyk has 54 felony charges against him in his criminal history and at least 31 convictions. He spent four years in Florida State Prison for burglary.”
