Glenn Williams Death – Dr. Glenn Williams MD, a resident of Germantown, Tennessee, and a well-known Physician at Mid-South Pulmonary Specialists has sadly passed away. He was a longtime member of Memphis Hightailers Bicycle Club in Memphis. He was announced dead on Monday, July 3rd, 2023, by the Memphis Hightailers Bicycle Club in a social media post that read “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Glenn Williams.
Who was Glenn Williams?
Glenn Williams was a resident of Germantown, Tennessee, and a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He went to Berkmar High School and also attended the University of Memphis and graduated with the class of 1980. Glenn also studied at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and graduated with the class of 1984 and the University of Chattanooga in 1991. He was a well-known and respected Physician at Mid-South Pulmonary Specialists in Memphis, Tennessee.
He was a member of the Memphis Hightailers Bicycle Club since 2009. He was a regular and participated in the weekly rides and events regularly. Many of the Bicycle Club members had the opportunity of riding with him one last time at the Red, White, and Blue Ride this past weekend. Dr. Glenn Williams was a Critical Care Anesthesiology specialist in Memphis and has over 31 years of experience in the medical field. Dr. Williams has extensive experience in Obstructive Lung Disease and Sleep Apnea. He was affiliated with Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Tribute to Glenn Williams
Kathy McCracken in a post on social media said “I am heartbroken at the passing of Dr. Glenn Williams. He guided me when I was a Respiratory Therapist as well as when I became a CVICU nurse. He was the one that diagnosed my right middle lobe syndrome and pericardial cyst. I could literally call him anytime. Loved our talks about running and biking and life. He was a friend to everyone. This is a hard loss!”
“My heart is so sad to hear the passing of Dr. Glenn Williams. He was such a nice guy.. he was a wonderful physician. I met him working at Baptist in CVICU.” Teresa Gibson Ford said. “if you worked in ICU you know we always requested him and Dr Fox because they were so good to work with. I learned so much from him. I had the privilege to get to know him outside of work biking. He was always a genuine person. He will be greatly missed. Rip Dr. Williams” Teresa added.
The family will release Glenn Williams’ obituary and funeral arrangements at a later date.
