Dillon Raymes Death – The Cumberland County, North Carolina communities have called for prayers for the Cape Fear High School students after a Sophomore student passed away from an apparent suicide on the campus Thursday. According to reports, Dillon Raymes a student at the Cape Fear High School located at 762 Clinton Rd, Fayetteville, NC died following a long battle with depression.
The deadly incident happened Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023, just after school closure. Law enforcement agencies were called to the Cape Fear High School for a shooting report. Law enforcement agencies arrived at the scene and located a teenager suffering a single gunshot wound to the body.
The teenager who has since been identified by locals as a student-athlete of the school was pronounced dead at the scene. Law enforcement agencies determined that Dillion died from a self-inflicted gunshot injury. Dillion was supposed to graduate from high school in 2026.
The entire community has asked for prayers for Dillion’s family his fellow students, and the entire school community as they go through these heartbreaking times. The Cape Fear High School has not released any official statement following the tragic occurrence.
About Cape Fear High School – Cape Fear High School is in the eastern part of Cumberland County. It is in the unincorporated town of Vander, which is east of Fayetteville. The Cape Fear school attendance area is the biggest in the county in terms of size.
