Del Amo Mall Shooting Today – Multipe enforcement agencies and emergency crews are responding to a shooting at Del Amo Mall in Torrance, California on Sunday, August 13th, 2023, 2023. The Seattle Police Department says that officers were sent to the Del Amo Fashion Center located at 3525 W Carson St, Torrance after reports of shots being fired in the area. At the time this report was made, it was not clear if the shooting hurt or killed anyone.

Two young people who were detained in January 2022 in relation to a triple shooting and carjacking that occurred close to Del Amo Fashion Center have since been turned over to Torrance police. On January 4, the Los Angeles Police Department made one suspect and two additional weapons into custody. Soon after, another law enforcement organization detained the second suspect, according to Torrance police Sgt. Mark Ponegalek.

The two suspects were apprehended by Torrance police detectives on Thursday and detained on charges of murder and armed robbery. Officers responded to a gunshot around 6:30 p.m. on December 14 in the south parking lot of the BJ’s Restaurant at 3525 Carson Street and discovered shooting evidence there, according to Ponegalek. At the time of the shooting, a complaint of a carjacking robbery near Dave & Buster’s, which is at the southern end of the mall, was received, according to Ponegalek.

A carjacking robbery of a victim unrelated to the shooting was carried out by the suspects from the shooting near BJ’s Restaurant, according to the officer. The carjacking victim was not hurt during the robbery. According to authorities, the three victims from the initial incident were being treated at a nearby hospital after being transported there by unidentified means.
