On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, Gwinnett County officials are looking into a threat of violence against a Suwanee high school. Collins Hill High School Principal Kerensa Wing informed parents via email that the school was aware of their worries regarding a threat making the rounds on social media. According to the Snapchat threat, a high school student will start shooting classmates on Wednesday after school.

According to Wing, police are actively looking into the threat and trying to find the person who posted the threat. Officials claim that there is currently no evidence to support the threat, but as a precaution, extra police will be stationed on campus for the next week. The threat made against Collins Hill High School is only the most recent in a string of social media threats made against schools in metro Atlanta.

Numerous threats were made against schools in Gwinnett and Pickens counties last week. Officials claim they found the threats in both cases to be unfounded. Four kids were involved in a fake including images of a weapon intended to “create chaos” at the school, according to Peachtree Ridge High School administrators in Suwanee, who made the discovery on October 18. Both disciplinary measures and criminal charges will be brought against the students.
