Thursday evening on the South Side of Chicago there was a collision on the outbound Bishop Ford that resulted in the death of one person. According to the Illinois State Police, a vehicle entered the shoulder of southbound Interstate 94 around 115th Street, collided with the back of a semi-trailer that was parked on the shoulder, and then flipped over.

According to the state police, the vehicle’s driver was thrown and later succumbed to his injuries. As it was flipping, it collided with another vehicle. The driver and passenger of the second car were reportedly brought to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening, according to the Illinois State Police.

The driver of the semi-truck declined any medical treatment that was offered. The road was blocked up for a good number of hours.
