According to officials with the Royse City Fire Department, the collision occurred just before 8:30 a.m. on Monday, August 7, close to Farm Road 458.

According to the police report, a tractor-trailer travelling west on Interstate 30 crossed into the eastbound lanes and collided with three vehicles. A fire broke out in one of the vehicles, and by the time emergency personnel arrived, the vehicle had been completely consumed by the flames
On Friday, August 11, the Dallas Medical Examiner identified the two victims who passed away as Christopher Scott Tally, age 35, and his wife, Shannon Nickole Crawford, age 36. According to the authorities, the married couple had a home in Greenville and left behind two children.
According to officials, there were no other injuries reported as a result of the collision. It has been determined that a “tyre failure” to the 18-wheeler’s left front steering axle is what caused the driver to lose control, travel into the left lane of westbound I-30, cross the grassy centre median, break through the cable barrier, and enter eastbound traffic. This information was provided by the Royse City Police Department, which stated that the crash is still being investigated.
According to the police, the semi’s driver is a 51-year-old lady from Pahrump, Nevada, who is helping them with their investigation. She is a cooperating witness.
