The SUV driver who hit the golf cart was arrested and charged with three charges of murder just hours after the accident.

The accident occurred at the corner of Greenhouse Road and Towne Lake Parkway in the Cypress area at around 3 a.m. on Sunday. Authorities said that Daniel Rivera, who was behind the wheel of a black Cadillac Escalade, ran a stop sign and collided with a golf cart in the junction. There were three men on the golf cart at the time; two were proclaimed dead at the scene. The victims killed in Cypress golf cart accident were identified as Jacob Wnuk and Fraser Anderson, and Christopher Scandridge.

Chris was transported to a local hospital, where he was also pronounced dead. A mother and a child were among the three occupants of the SUV when it crashed. According to Gonzalez, the child is OK and was given to family members.

According to Gonzalez, the man and lady in the SUV were transferred to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and released. The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) made the arrest and murder charge announcement for Rivera on Sunday night. They said he was drunk at the time of the accident.
