Ag Pilot Chris Caruana of Grand Island, New York was announced dead on Sunday, the 11th of June 2023. Chris had a funny and unique personality and was never afraid to show it and his friends loved that about him. He was described by his friends as someone always ready for a laugh. Thoughts and prayers are with his friends, the entire Caruana family and the Windsor community during this difficult time.

How did Chris Caruana die?

Christopher M. Caruana, 35 years old from Grand Island, has been identified by state police as the pilot who lost his life in a plane accident last Sunday in Porter. At around 3:08 p.m., the single-propeller plane crashed, with Caruana as the only occupant of the aircraft. The cause of the crash is still being investigated. The incident occurred near Shear Airport, and according to authorities, the plane was heading north when it hit trees and power lines, eventually crashing in a field located north of Braley Road. The site of the crash is situated between Youngstown-Wilson Road and Porter Center Road, which is within proximity to Lake Ontario.

He worked as an Ag Pilot and Owner-operator, Pilot at Windsor Aviation. Chris was a true embodiment of a kind-hearted individual with a calming presence. He had an incredible impact on many, inspiring and touching the hearts of those who knew him.
