Chicago Police Officer Faces Additional Charges of Sexual Assault and Child Pornography
U.S —- A Chicago police officer who was already facing allegations of sexually abusing a kid is now facing multiple additional counts relating to occurrences with three other victims, including sexual assault, child pornography, and other offences. These charges are related to the officer’s alleged involvement in these crimes.
According to the prosecution, the claimed victims were 23 years old, 14 years old, and 13 years old when the offences were committed. The defendant, David Deleon, is a 30-year-old Chicago police officer who has worked for the agency since 2017. Despite the fact that he is still employed by the department, he is not being paid because of the pending case that was filed against him in March.
On March 25, he was taken into custody by the Norridge police department in connection to a case involving the aggravated kidnapping and aggravated criminal sexual assault of a victim who was 17 years old. Investigators were able to take Deleon’s mobile phone, which held proof of “multiple crimes against children,” as stated by the prosecutors in Cook County.
The Cook County Sheriff’s Office was given the phone to investigate further. The investigation revealed that there were “numerous” boys “hanging out” at Deleon’s residence in Chicago at various times during the course of the investigation. Between November 2021 and March 2023, photos and videos were taken that depicted the sexual assault or abuse of three different victims.
The images included some photographs and videos that were shot while the victims were asleep, and the investigators believe that these images reflect various forms of abuse that were committed by Deleon. The Cook County police also stated that the tapes show him with the victims as they were engaging in activities such as smoking tobacco, drinking alcohol, and handling firearms.
On Thursday, Deleon was taken into custody in the driveway of his home. The scar and birthmark on his left hand allowed the police to positively identify him from the videos. The investigation led to the discovery of bed linens and pillows that were identical to those seen in videos taken using Deleon’s phone.
Eight fresh accusations have been brought against Deleon, including aggravated criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim younger than 18, unauthorised video recording, manufacturing and possession of child pornography, and unauthorised video recording. He is currently being kept in jail without the possibility of bail, and his next court date is set for September 6th.
