Chase Powell Death – Early on Friday morning, the bodies of a kid who was five years old and an armed man who had been at the center of a ten-hour standoff with law enforcement were discovered inside a burning property in Long Beach. Thursday afternoon, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the police responded to a complaint of domestic violence in the 3400 block of Adriatic Avenue. This is when the standoff began.
It was reported that there was smoke and flames inside the house when the authorities arrived. During the subsequent confrontation with a guy inside the property, the fire was put out, and inhabitants of the surrounding area were expelled from their positions. To ensure the safety of the residents who were located nearby, SWAT officers were dispatched to the location, where they set up a perimeter and evacuated them.
Officers entered the residence at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Friday and discovered the man with what seemed to be a fatal gunshot wound that he had inflicted upon himself, according to the police. In addition, the body of a child who was five years old was discovered inside the house, and the authorities have stated that it seems to be a murder-suicide.
According to the findings of the coroner’s office, the deceased suspect was identified as Chase Phillip Powell, who was 39 years old and from Long Beach. It was not immediately possible to obtain information regarding the characteristics of the man’s relationship with the child. According to the police, additional information is anticipated to be published on Friday.
