Charles Ogletree Death – Professor Charles Ogletree has passed away suddenly. He was confirmed dead on Friday, August 4, 2023. He died at the age of 70, leaving many devastated after learning of the tragic news. He will be missed by many in the space of law and politics as well as the whole Harvard Law School community.

Dean John Manning sent an email to the community of Harvard Law School to make the announcement that Professor Charles Ogletree has passed away. Professor Ogletree had disclosed in 2016 that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

Who was Charles Ogletree Jr?

Charles James Ogletree Jr. was a legal thinker and law professor who had a reputation that extended throughout the globe. It was under his tutelage that Barack Obama and Michele Robinson, both students at Harvard Law, developed their legal careers. In addition to this, he was a contributor to the post-apartheid constitution that was drafted for South Africa. He lived an amazing life  making tremendous contributions.
