Chandler Stalcup Shot – An 18-year-old boy has been hospitalized following a deadly shooting that happened on Saturday morning near Hilands Golf Club. The victim has been identified as Chandler Stalcup, a resident of Crystal River, Florida. According to reports, Rocky Mountain College student-athlete Chandler Stalcup was injured in the Billings shooting.

How did the shooting happen?

According to the announcement made by the BPD on social media, the shooting took place in the 900 block of Poly Drive at about six in the morning. The area of Poly Drive between Glenwood Drive and Michigan Avenue was cordoned off by BPD detectives. One automobile could be seen parked inside the closed-off section of Poly Drive.

Chandler Stalcup’s condition

In the hours that followed the shooting, which left an 18-year-old man with life-threatening injuries, detectives from the BPD closed down a section of Poly Drive. On Saturday, the BPD shift commanders were not immediately available to offer an update on Chandler Stalcup’s health or to comment on whether or not any arrests had been made.

Even though the BPD is on course to investigate a lower number of murders in 2023 when compared to the previous year, gun violence in the city has already resulted in the deaths of six people in and around Billings thus far in 2023. The Boston Police Department closed off the previous year with 17 murder investigations, the vast majority of which included shootings.
