According to Holland police, they were called to a report of shooting incident at Michigan Street and 22nd Avenue at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 7.

Law enforcement agencies receied a call that two patients have arrived at Holland Hospital with gunshot injuries. According to reports, a 34-year-old male was hurt, and the woman passed away at the hospital. The male was taken to Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital, according to the police, and it was unclear what his condition was at the time.

According to police, an initial investigations determined that was a fight at the Moran Park Church parking lot, during which the two victims were shot. Authorities describes the suspect involved in the incident as a man, around forty years old, with a dark complexion, heavy set, and all black clothing. Cassandra Casares was a mother and beloved family member.
