After beginning her career on local television stations in Grand Rapids and Detroit, Michigan, Duvall went on to build a career that spanned ten years and led to her becoming a nationally renowned figure on arts-and-crafts series broadcast on ABC and HGTV. Duvall is most known for her work in these programs. Her career in television got its start in 1951 at WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, where she hosted a show geared toward young audiences.
