In the early hours just before 3 a.m., a tragic accident unfolded at Greenhouse near Towne Lake Parkway in Cypress. Harris County Sheriff’s deputies have reported that 21-year-old Daniel Montana Rivera was driving a black Escalade SUV while under the influence of alcohol.
Tragically, Rivera ran a stop sign and collided with a golf cart, resulting in the loss of all three occupants’ lives. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez mentioned that Rivera was accompanied by a woman and a small child in the SUV during the crash, and fortunately, they suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The victims in the golf cart were identified as Jacob Wnuk and Fraser Anderson, who sadly succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The third victim, Christopher Scandridge, was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Their ages ranged from 37 to 41 years old.
As a consequence of the incident, Rivera is facing three counts of felony murder. Each charge has a bond set at $200,000. According to court records, Rivera was driving while intoxicated with a child passenger when he ran the stop sign, leading to the tragic deaths of Wnuk, Anderson, and Scandridge.
