Caleb Chappetta Death – Family and friends of a 38-year-old Louisiana School for the Deaf graduate have been thrown into mourning after a multiple-vehicle crash left their son dead. Caleb James Chappetta passed away in a crash that happened late Friday night at the intersection of Government St and South Foster Dr. According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the collision involved two officers responding to an assistance call.
Caleb who was a Quality Control Inspector at Glaztech Aluminium And Glass, a former Insulator at Dependable Glass Works, ex-Fabrication Technician at Clearedge wholesale glass was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. He also schooled at the Slidell High School and the Louisiana School for the Deaf.
What Happened?
Baton Rouge Police Traffic Detectives are investigating a major traffic crash that occurred last night around 10:46 pm at the intersection of Government St and South Foster Dr. Two BRPD Uniformed Officers were responding to an officer in need of assistance dispatched call on South 16th St and Government St when a major crash occurred at the listed location.
BRPD Detectives believe that a marked BRPD Ford Explorer, with lights and sirens activated and traveling westbound on Government St, entered the intersection and struck a black Chevrolet Impala that was traveling southbound on South Foster Dr. Six other vehicles were also struck during this crash. The driver of the Impala, Caleb James Chappetta, 38, died at the scene. Both Uniformed Officers were transported to a local hospital with injuries sustained in the crash. This is an ongoing investigation.
