He was announced dead by TFcon through a social media post that read “There are no words to convey how terrible this is, but our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of long time TFcon Toronto attendee Bryce Rutledge AKA Brr-icy Photography who passed away last night. RIP our friend.”

What was Bryce Rutledge’s cause of death?

There is speculation that Bryce passed away after going overboard on a cruise but these rumors are yet to be verified. Meanwhile, multiple reports say on a “Headbangers Boat” excursion, a 41-year-old man reportedly plunged overboard from a Norwegian cruise ship that was sailing back to Miami. According to a cruise company representative, the event occurred early on Friday morning as the Norwegian Pearl was traveling to Miami while sailing close to the Bahamas. It is currently unknown if Bryce’s death is linked to the incident.

Who was Bryce Rutledge?

Bryce Rutledge was a resident of Stratford, Ontario, and a native of St. Marys, Ontario, according to his social media profile. He was a CMM Programmer at OMEX Manufacturing and a participant in TFcon Toronto under the name Brr-icy Photography. He was a decent man and a skilled photographer. He participated in TFW2005 and was well-known for his competent photography abilities. He also collected and customized Radicons.

He was described as a mainstay of the TFCon events, a transformer encyclopedia, a passionate collector, a giving vendor, and an enthusiastic photographer. He forged lifetime relationships with many as a friend, comforting and uplifting them with his warm smile and attentive ear. Bryce was a beloved figure in the lives of both family and friends because of his altruism, humor, and knowledge, which left an enduring impression on everyone who had the good fortune to meet him.

Tribute to Bryce Rutledge

Bryce’s cousin, Stephanie Benny took to social media and wrote “Just found out my cousin Bryce Rutledge passed away my heart breaks right now, I just saw you a few weeks ago, I’m so sorry your life ended this way, He had a good heart and had been there for me the past few months.” Stephanie also said “I’m really in shock right now. Didn’t expect to wake up to this news. RIP cuz I’ll never forget all the times we had.”

“Woke up this morning to learn about the loss of Bryce Rutledge. Though we had not met in person, we are both cast members of the #TFYLP Transformers Podcast and have been friends for years.” Jim Black also wrote on social media. “I have always enjoyed our various conversations, and his Brr-icy Photography gallery was amazing. My heartfelt condolences go out to all of his friends and loved ones.”
