Bruno D’Amore, his wife Jill and mother Lucia Arpino died in Newton MA stabbing

Bruno D’Amore Death — Following an update, 41-year-old Christopher Ferguson has been arrested in connection with the triple homicide. According to law enforcement authorities, three elderly residents of a home in a Boston suburb, including two who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, appeared to have been stabbed and beaten to death during a break-in this weekend. According to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan, an associate of the couple contacted 911 at around 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, June 26th, 2023, to report that the couple and a family member seemed to be dead inside their Newton, Massachusetts, home.

Who were the victims?

The victims were identified as Jill and Bruno D’Amore, a married couple in their 70s, and Jill’s mother, Lucia Arpino, who was in her 90s, according to a letter from the victim’s families to the community of Our Lady of Help of Christians. “It is with a heavy heart that we share that the terrible tragedy that happened yesterday in Newton hit very close to home … impacting our faith community and our own family,” the letter said. “Jill and Bruno D’Amore and Jill’s mother Lucia Arpino lost their lives in a senseless act of violence.”

Bruno D’Amore’s cause of death

On Sunday morning, the pair was anticipated at church. Ryan stated that there were indications of a forced entry at the residence, and she warned locals to exercise caution because the murderer was still at large. According to Newton Police Chief John Carmichael Jr., more officers were sent out to patrol the city Sunday night. Ryan requested that neighbors in the surrounding areas review video captured by cameras on their residences and notify the authorities of any unusual activities.

According to Ryan, the killings were reported a few hours after police received a call about an attempted break-in at a house a half-mile away. The killings took place roughly seven miles west of downtown Boston. Authorities are looking into possible connections between the instances.

According to local law enforcement, the triple killing is Newton’s first of its sort, Ryan told reporters. The most recent year for which government figures are available is 2019 when the city of around 87,000 people recorded no homicides. In comparison to the same period last year, homicide has decreased by around 12 percent in more than 90 cities, according to research from data-collection company AH Datalytics.

Bruno D’Amore’s obituary and funeral arrangements will be released by the family at a later date.
