Bruce Beard Death – Founding Director of C.S. Lewis Institute and Boardman High Alumnus Bruce Beard of Youngstown, Ohio has sadly passed away. He died from cardiac arrest on Thursday 3rd August 2023 leaving family and friends devastated. He was announced dead through a post that says “Sharing with friends that my brother-in-law, Bruce Beard, passed away this afternoon of cardiac arrest. For those of you who knew and loved Bruce- a Boardman High standout in Baseball, Basketball and tennis”.
Bruce Beard Career
Bruce was the driving force behind the establishment of the Christian Service Leadership Institute (CSLI) in Northeast Ohio in 2013. He was also an exceptional mentor to a large number of young men, had a skill for discovering brilliant people and then assisting those people in flourishing and growing, and had a deep love for Jesus. After settling down in Fort Myers, Florida, Bruce became involved in the community by volunteering as a mentor with the Community Service Learning Institute (CSLI) of Naples and eventually became chairman of their advisory board.
His zest for life, his active lifestyle filled with sports, fishing, and being among other people, all of these were characteristics of his personality. But most importantly, Bruce had a great testimony, and he shared it with others. He told people how Jesus Christ had rescued him and given him both joy on this earth and the hope of everlasting life.
