Brennan Lydick Death – The Ann Arbor Police Department has identified the victim involved in a tragic motorcycle accident that led to the closure of a section of Jackson Road on Monday, July 31st, 2023. The deceased individual is Brennan Lydick, a 20-year-old resident of Ann Arbor. According to authorities, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 3 p.m. on July 31st when Lydick, who was operating the motorcycle, collided with a vehicle while traveling west on Jackson Road.

The accident happened between the intersections of Maple and Wagner roads, in close proximity to an I-94 ramp and near the boundary of Scio Township. Reports indicate that the crash was caused by a van turning left into the Wyndham Garden Hotel, which resulted in the collision with Lydick’s motorcycle. Emergency services promptly transported Lydick to the hospital, but tragically, he was pronounced dead there. The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries, according to the police statement.

The authorities have not yet determined if drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident, and the investigation into the exact cause of the accident is still ongoing. Due to the severity of the crash and the need for a thorough examination, Jackson Road between Maple and Wagner Roads remained closed from approximately 3 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

In Canton, two separate fatal collisions are being looked into. The initial collision reportedly took place on Thursday, June 29th at around 5 p.m. near Haggerty Road and Van Born Road, according to the Canton Police Department. According to investigators, a 34-year-old Detroit woman was driving a car that struck a 77-year-old Canton woman’s SUV as she was traveling northbound on Haggerty.

A 72-year-old Lincoln Park woman driving a northbound car then struck the Canton woman’s SUV. Police reported that the Canton woman was declared dead at a nearby hospital. All other passengers in the affected automobiles received non-life-threatening medical attention. The investigation was still ongoing on Friday, but according to the police, alcohol does not seem to have been a factor in these collisions.

A few hours later, at around 9 p.m., Canton Police reported that a motorcycle rider near Cherry Hill on Beck Road lost control of his vehicle and off the road. The 53-year-old man from Westland was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him dead. At this point, it is unclear if alcohol played a role in the motorbike accident, and authorities are still looking into it. The two victims of these collisions were not immediately identified by name.

The family will release Brennan Lydick’s obituary and funeral arrangements at a later date.
