Brad Freitas Death: Washington and Frederick, Maryland communities are mourning the tragic loss of a longtime photojournalist who passed away suddenly. Two-time Emmy Awards winner and NBC 4 Washington Aerial Reporter and Photojournalist died unexpectedly from an apparent suicide.

Brad Freitas was popularly addressed as Chopper Brad by his formerly Twitter – now X family. According to Brad’s Elliot in the Morning fans, Brad was a dedicated man who loved his job. Brad was over-experienced in his job as a photojournalist.

The NBC Universal Media community has been thrown into mourning the unexpected event. Brad was a proud graduate of Towson University. Brad’s favorite line would always be “NOT the pilot of Chopper4. I ride in the back and tweet stuff and talk on TV sometimes. In 12 years I’ve won two Emmy Awards but lost one Blue Checkmark.”

Many months ago Brad Choppef as he was fondly called by his online communities proposed to his girlfriend of many years Kara Sutherland above ground level on air. Brad Freitas was an aerial photographer for WTOP’s news partner NBC4.
