Blayne Marple Death – A man was killed early on Wednesday morning as he was driving on Fox Lake Road at the public access site at a speed that was too high for him to safely negotiate the curve in the road, according to a report from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office. A crash with a vehicle on fire was reported just after midnight on Fox Lake Road, close to the Fox Lake Public Access Site. Officers from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office went to the scene just after midnight.
Upon the arrival of the Sheriff’s deputies at the intersection of Fox Lake Road and C.R. 150W, they discovered a 2009 Mazda RX8 that had collided and subsequently caught fire. The deputies who first arrived at the scene observed a passenger car that was completely consumed by fire in close proximity to a utility pole.
According to the report from the Sheriff’s office, the vehicle exhibited significant damage on the driver’s side, suggesting that it had experienced a collision with a utility pole before igniting into flames. The preliminary inquiry has established that the Mazda was moving at a considerable velocity.
The driver was attempting to navigate a curve when he lost control of the vehicle, overcorrected, and eventually slid, colliding with a utility pole and catching fire. Upon the successful extinguishment of the fire, the lifeless body of the individual was discovered within the confines of the vehicle.
Loved ones identified the victim on social media as Blayne Marple. The ongoing investigation of the accident is being conducted by the Sheriff’s Office. The Angola Police, Angola Fire Department, and the Steuben County Coroner’s Office provided assistance to the Sheriff’s Office at the location.
