Austin Shooting: Officer injured following standoff in South Austin, TX

Austin Shooting Investigations – At least five dozen law enforcement agencies are on the scene of an officer-involved shooting in South Austin, Texas late Sunday night. According to law enforcement agencies, an officer has been shot and transported to the North Austin Hospital following a standoff tonight. At least ten law enforcement agencies’ vehicles have been seen racing down to the scene from the Interstate 35 area.

According to reports, officers with the Austin Police Department responded to an apartment complex located in the Southpark Meadows Neighborhood following a shooting report. The suspect self-barricaded inside an apartment and subsequently fired multiple shots at responding officers. An officer was struck multiple times in the body. His condition is unknown at this time. The suspect is in custody. This is a developing story
