Ashley Waters Manteca CA died in shooting near Planet Fitness gym, 2 suspect passed away in Alameda County crash
Ashley Waters Death – Law enforcement agencies have identified the woman who was killed while picking up her boyfriend near the Planet Fitness gym in Manteca, California. Ashley Waters passed away after she was shot in the 1300 block of West Yosemite Avenue in Manteca, California Sunday. The deadly incident happened at approximately 10 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2023. Two suspects were located dead in a burning crash vehicle in Alameda County. Law enforcement says the suspect fled from the scene of the incident. A gun was recovered.
Shortly after the shooting, police said they found a car that might have been involved. The car was then found by the California Highway Patrol in Alameda County. Manteca police said the suspect’s car led the CHP on a chase that ended in a crash. The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office says that police tried to stop the car near the 238 Junction, but the driver took off. It was said that the suspect’s car was stolen in Oakland on Sunday.
The car finally got off the freeway and drove on surface streets. The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office said the car crashed into a tree after swerving to avoid spike strips on Davis Street near Preda Street in San Leandro. Officials said that after the crash, the driver and front passenger were not moving, and a 14-year-old boy in the back seat had to be pulled out of the car. The car then caught on fire, and the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office said that the two men inside couldn’t be pulled out before the car was completely covered in flames.
Everyone please keep my family in your prayers My lil sister Ashley Waters was shot tonight in front of her boyfriend’s job at Rite Aid waiting for him to get off someone walked to the car & was trying to rob her and shot her after being shot she had enough strength to drive off a couple of stores down from where her boyfriend worked and the people that were trying to rob her ended up getting spooked and running off. My sister’s boyfriend heard the gunshot and ran out to see my sister’s car parked a few stores down in front of planet fitness and then called the police. It just happened a few mins ago that’s all I have heard so far from my grandparents I’ll be leaving Fresno to go to Manteca to find out more in a few mins. I just can’t believe this happened to her out of all of us. She was so young man she was only 23 yrs old. Out of the 2 of these, I really thought I’d be the one to go first not her. R.I.P Lil sis forever be in my heart I love you. This was the night of her graduation. OMG, why did this have to happen to you?
