Arlington Explosion: 2 badly hurt, man died following loud bang, fire during search warrant execution in Arlington, VA

Arlington Explosion Investigations – A man has died from an explosion after attempting to fire a flare gun at police in Arlington, VA Monday. According to reports, multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the report of a standoff with an armed subject following a search warrant execution.

According to Arlington Police, as Police with an armored vehicle approached a home in Arlington Virginia during an investigation, the home exploded. Officers were attempting to execute a search warrant at the residence, the suspect discharged several rounds inside the home. Subsequently, an explosion occurred at the residence and officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the explosion.

Arlington County police said the person inside the house fired shots as officers tried to enter the home, just before the explosion. A loud explosion was heard as fire gut the building. The suspect reportedly attempted to fire a flare gun at police, causing the explosion. At least two others have been confirmed injured following the incident.
