Anthony Gomez died, 1 injured in 405 Freeway accident in Van Nuys

Anthony Gomez Death – On Monday morning, a multi-vehicle accident that occurred on the 405 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley claimed the life of a guy who was 28 years old. At approximately 4:40 in the morning, a number of individuals started calling the California Highway Patrol to report what they thought was a wrong-way vehicle. After a few moments, further callers reported a collision at the Sherman Way exit in Van Nuys that involved more than one vehicle.

Later, investigations with the CHP determined that there had not been a collision in the opposite direction. They think that Anthony Gomez, the driver of a silver Acura that was involved in the accident, lost control of the vehicle on the northbound side of the freeway, spun out, collided with the center divider, and wound up facing the wrong way after the disaster. Gomez’s vehicle was then involved in a collision with a truck and a red sedan.

At the site, the authorities determined that Gomez was deceased. As a result of the crash, the other drivers got very minor injuries. During the inquiry, the California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert, and traffic was restricted to one lane for several hours. The study is currently underway and will continue.

Anthony Gomez’s obituary and funeral arrangements will be released by the family at a later date.
