Anita Carey Career
Anita began her acting career in the 1970s by appearing in many British comedy programs, such as “I Didn’t Know You Cared.” Anita was born in Halifax, which is located in the state of West Yorkshire, in 1946. In 1978, she was recruited in the role of Brenda Summers in the British soap opera Coronation Street. Brenda was a friend of Emily Bishop, who was portrayed by Eileen Derbyshire, and she was a victim of domestic violence.
In 2007, she made her comeback to daytime television playing the role of Vivien March, a receptionist in the BBC program Doctors. Due to the narrative of the show, which saw her character being embroiled in a horrible rape, she was awarded the British Soap Award for Best Dramatic Performance for the part.
Anita was married to the well-known British actor and director Mark Wing-Davey when she was not pursuing her career in the entertainment industry. The two individuals first connected with one another in 1973, when they were both participating in a performance of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” at the Sheffield Crucible.
