Anadalay Gomez Hooker, OK, HS grad died in car accident on US-270

UPDATE: On Monday, July 31st, around 5:10 pm, a tragic collision took place on US-270 at Hollow N1590 Road. This location is roughly 14 miles south of Beaver, Oklahoma, and 20 miles east of the city of Beaver. Karl Russel Jett, 73, of Laverne, Oklahoma, was driving a 2020 Ram 3500 pickup truck westbound on US-270 when he stopped to attempt a left turn. At that moment, Anadalay Gomez Mendoza, age 18, of Adams, Oklahoma, driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla 4 door, struck the Ram pickup from behind.

Approximately two hours and thirty-five minutes passed until the jaws of life were used by Beaver Fire to rescue Mendoza, who had been trapped inside the truck. Jonathan Aston, the Medical Examiner, determined that she had suffered fatal injuries to her head, trunk (both internally and externally), trunk (both arms and legs), and legs. He pronounced her dead at the site. Jett did not sustain any injuries.

She was a member of the school softball team. Ana was such a sweet girl and never let any moment in softball stop her from battling for a win. Her dedication to the game earned her the honor of being selected to the All-District and All-Conference teams.

Anadalay competed for the NEW Miss SWKS in 2022 and came up as the first runner. Teachers , clergy and staff will be available in the Hooker High School Old Gym from 1-3pm Tuesday, August 1, for students to come and visit.
