Authorities in Florida said on Tuesday that a teenager who had been reported missing over the weekend near Daytona Beach had been located safe and sound. According to the Daytona Beach Police Department, fourteen-year-old Barbora Zdanska was located safe and sound in Marion County only a few days after her father reported her missing on Sunday. The authorities had stated in the past that they believed Zdanska had gotten into a vehicle and then subsequently sent a message to a member of her family indicating that she had been kidnapped.

The authorities reported that they learned that the charges of kidnapping were untrue once they located the teenager. According to the police report, Zdanska and her father had a disagreement about her texting with her boyfriend, and her father took her cellphone away as a result of the quarrel.

The teenage daughter was nowhere to be seen when the man woke up on a Sunday morning, and the window to her bedroom was wide open. The investigators speculated that Zdanska may have been in the presence of her lover, who was only 14 years old. Although the vehicle that Zdanska was thought to have been travelling in was discovered at 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement stated at the time that Zdanska was still presumed to be missing.

The owner of the vehicle was alleged to have been cooperative with the police and had told them that she had picked up Zdanska at Daytona Beach and then dropped her off at a property in Jacksonville. Around midday on Tuesday, Zdanska was located unharmed, and the authorities immediately cancelled the Amber Alert.
