Alex Fraser Bridge Jumper Death: Police incident as man died from suicide by jumping at Delta B. C. Hwy 17

Heavy police presence on Alex Fraser Bridge northbound as motorists recall sight of body bags following suicide jumper today

Alex Fraser Bridge Suicide Investigations – A male has tragically passed away from an apparent suicide at the famous Alex Fraser Bridge. According to reports, officers with the Delta Police Department and Delta Police Traffic Unit were called to the scene on the Alex Fraser Bridge. A man was reportedly intercepted threatening to jump off the bridge.

Law enforcement agencies responded to the scene and after much negotiations the male sadly refused to heed to plea of not jumping off the bridge. The unidentified male jumped of the Alex Fraser Bridge and landed on the HWY 17, he was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. Multiple search unites responded to the scene where they located the remains of the male. Motorist on the highway at the time of the incident recall the trauma they felt seeing the body of a man by the side of the road.

Following the incident, a large portion of the northbound lane has been closed to traffic as law enforcement agencies respond to the incident. Northbound lane closure in effect due to a police incident. #BCHwy17 – Single lane alternating traffic in both directions under the #AlexFraserBridge due to a police incident.

Traffic Advisory: Alex Fraser Bridge northbound lanes reduced to 2 lanes. Hwy 17 under the bridge is down to single-lane traffic in both directions. Please expect delays.

What Happened, Police Incident On Alex Fraser Bridge today

Multiple videos circulating the internet showed the unidentified man as he jumped off the Alex Fraser Bridge and landed on the highway 17 just underneath Alex Fraser bridge. Following the incident, the BCHwy17 was reduced to Single Lane Alternating traffic near the AlexFraserBridge due toa heavy police presence.

The on-ramp to Westbound BCHwy17 is closed at Tannery Road. The Rider Alert say 340 22nd St Station/Scottsdale is experiencing delays. The investigations is ongoing at the Alex Fraser Bridge located in the  suburban community in Metro Vancouver.
