He was confirmed dead through a social media publication that read “Our hearts are broken over your loss Aj Huddleston! Max was so lucky to have a coach who believed in him, lifted him up, and busted his chops when needed. Your loss will be deeply felt throughout our community. Sending so much love to his girls.”
What was AJ Huddleston’s cause of death?
Following a three-vehicle collision in the Town of Marcellus on Saturday, January 13, one man has died. A pickup truck was going east on West Seneca Turnpike at around six o’clock when it spun out because of the icy road, according to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office. The SUV was heading west on West Seneca Turnpike when the pickup truck struck it head-on. The OCSO claims that in order to avoid the collision, a third car then entered a ditch.
The Marcellus and Howlett Hill Fire Departments extricated the SUV’s driver and lone occupant, who has since been identified by the OCSO as Syracuse resident Anthony Huddleston Jr., 36. He was declared dead after being brought to Upstate Hospital in critical condition. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the only people inside the pickup truck and the car that went into a ditch were unharmed.
Who was AJ Huddleston?
Anthony Huddleston Jr., was a resident of Syracuse, New York, and a beloved father to his daughters Brooklynne and Avery whom he chersihed with the whole of his heart. AJ was a coach for the Clay Panthers, a local youth football organization. He was a big, kind, funny, and wise man who was beautiful on the inside and out. He had the most beautiful smile and a kind heart, and his personality was so lively that it lit up a room.
He cared more about people and their well-being than anyone else. More importantly, he will give you his full attention and all the love and support you never knew you needed. Coach Hudd thought it was most important to spend time with his kids and family. People knew him as someone who liked to have fun and whose energy could fill a room.

The Clay Panthers organization is deeply saddened by the sudden loss to our Panthers family, our beloved football coach, Aj Huddleston Coach Hudd. His passion, dedication, and mentorship has touched the lives of so many in our organization. He was a loving father, a trusted friend, an exceptional coach and a staple at our fields and cheerleading competitions. Coach Hudd’s legacy will forever live on in the hearts of our athletes he inspired.
His impact reached far beyond the field and he stepped up to coach when our kids were in need. The Clay Panthers community sends our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones, especially his two daughters, during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Coach Hudd. We will all miss you greatly at the Panthers field.
